Hey, you're already doing better than my sister. Her first (and only) blog entry consisted of "Hi everybody, my name is (name removed to protect the innocent)! I have two kitties. Their names are Muffin and Spencer. They make me so happy!"
And she was 29 years old when she wrote that. Sigh.
For a suggestion; add pictures! Everybody likes pictures, especially people who can't read! And you take great pictures.
